Dr. Gardner got me back on track and feeling better and continues to work with me and listen to my treatment suggestions. She's more "in the know" and open minded about thyroid treatment than the three Endocrinologists that I have seen. My medication has required many tweaks and she looks at the whole picture, not just the TSH test. I feel very fortunate to have found her because I most certainly would not be able to live the active lifestyle that I want to live!
Dr. Gardner essentially saved my life. She figured out what was going on after four months of having other providers scratch their heads and tell me it was all in my head. It sure wasn't! She's very kind, held my hand when delivering rough news, and came up with a good treatment plan. I trust her--even after having lost trust in my other providers. Thank you Dr. Gardner!
Carol is the reason I am able to get out of bed, play with my kids, and be moderately active. If I hadn't have gone to see her I'd STILL be suffering with Lyme and Babesia infections undiagnosed for longer than the year or so I was. She took her time listening to me, taking me seriously when no doctor would, and with better testing from IGENX prooved what was really wrong. She's amazing with treatment, took into consideration my personal circumstances and adjusted meds when needed. She's a no nonsense doctor, gives great nutritional advice to work side by side with your health and treatment. I can't say enough how lucky I was to have her as my treating physician! The staff is great and just as attentive as Carol, the office is clean and inviting. If my insurance were different than medicaid I would totally have her as my GP in a heartbeat.
My only complaint is that it often take several days for someone to return a call and this can be very frustrating. I believe that Dr. Gardner is working on improving that!
Carol has a genuine interest and respect in the health of her patients, but, I noticed personally that she over prescribes "supplements" to her clients. She overprescribes. When a body is in turmoil the liver/kidneys/pancreas can't handle all of those natural ingredients every day, all day. Too much. Perhaps she's burnt out and hands out natural suggestions like candy without sugar.
Dr. Gardner has been my primary doctor for many years now. She will usually get me right in for an appointment. She always takes as much time as necessary to find out the issue and come to a resolution. She is very caring and listens to her patients! :) Her staff members are very helpful as well!
I've been seeing Dr. Gardner for several years as a Thyroidectomy patient. When I first started seeing her I was being monitored by an Endocrinologist and I was extremely hypothyroid due to the 6 month wait in between appointments, and not being "heard" when I tried to explain that I wasn't doing well on the medication I was on.
